By using our services, you agree to the following terms and conditions.
Please read them carefully to understand the terms of our tuition matching service.

1. Tutor Matching and Trial Period

• After submitting a tutor request form, Very Good Tutor will recommend a suitable tutor based on the requirements provided.

• Clients may choose to take a trial lesson with the selected tutor. In this case, only the first lesson fee will be required upfront.

• If the client decides to continue after the trial, the second lesson fee will be collected by Very Good Tutor.

2. Payment Structure

• Very Good Tutor requires payment for the first two lessons as an upfront commitment.

• For trial lessons, clients are only obligated to pay for the first lesson initially. If the tutor arrangement continues, payment for the second lesson will be required.

• Subsequent payments after the first two lessons should be made directly to the tutor. Very Good Tutor is not responsible for payments beyond the initial two lessons.

3. Cancellation and Rescheduling

• Cancellations or rescheduling requests must be made at least 4 hours before the lesson. Failure to provide this notice will result in a 50% charge of the lesson fee to cover the tutor’s time and travel expenses.

• Rescheduling requests made outside of Very Good Tutor’s business hours (Mon-Sun, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM) should be coordinated directly with the tutor.

4. Tutor Replacement Policy

• If the assigned tutor is not a good fit, Very Good Tutor will arrange a replacement tutor at no extra cost. However, clients are required to pay for all lessons conducted by the previous tutor.

• Replacement requests are rare, as Very Good Tutor is committed to matching clients with high-quality tutors suited to their needs.

5. Refund Policy

• Fees for completed lessons are non-refundable.

• In the event of a cancellation before the first lesson, any prepaid fees will be refunded, minus administrative charges, if applicable.

• Refunds for any lesson fees paid after the first lesson will not be issued once the client commits to continuing with the assigned tutor.

6. Liability

• Very Good Tutor acts solely as a matchmaker between tutors and clients and is not liable for any issues arising between tutors and clients after the matching process.

• Clients and tutors are responsible for all arrangements, including the schedule, payment (post-trial), and any agreements beyond the initial matching.

7. Confidentiality and Data Protection

• Very Good Tutor respects your privacy. All personal information provided by clients and tutors is handled in compliance with Singapore’s data protection laws.

8. Amendments to Terms

• Very Good Tutor reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Clients and tutors will be notified of any significant changes.

For Tutors Registering with Us:

• Name, contact information (e.g., phone number, email address), and NRIC/FIN (for verification purposes).

• Academic qualifications, certifications, and teaching experience.

• Language proficiencies and subject expertise.

• Availability and preferred teaching locations.

• Bank account details for payment processing.

• Declaration of background information (e.g., absence of criminal records or bankruptcies).

We collect your personal data through forms on our website, direct communication, or other interactions with our team.

2. Purpose of Collecting Personal Data

Your personal data is collected and used for the following purposes:

For Families:

• Matching your tuition requirements with suitable tutors.

• Communicating with you about tutor arrangements and progress.

• Processing payments for tutoring services.

• Responding to inquiries, feedback, and disputes.

For Tutors:

• Evaluating your eligibility to be listed as a tutor on our platform.

• Matching your profile with suitable assignments.

• Facilitating payment of tuition fees.

• Communicating job opportunities and client feedback.

3. Disclosure of Personal Data

We value your privacy and limit data sharing strictly for the purposes stated above:

Disclosure to Families (for Tutors):

We may share tutors’ profiles, including qualifications, teaching experience, and languages spoken, with families. Personal contact details will only be disclosed after an agreement is confirmed.

Disclosure to Tutors (for Families):

Families’ tuition requirements and preferred schedules will be shared with tutors to assess assignment suitability. Personal contact information will only be disclosed after a match is made.

Third-Party Services:

In certain cases, we may engage third-party service providers (e.g., payment processors) to assist us. These parties are contractually obligated to keep your data confidential.

4. Protection of Personal Data

We implement stringent measures to safeguard your personal data, including:

• Secure storage of data on encrypted servers.

• Restricted access to authorized personnel only.

• Regular audits and updates to our data protection systems.

5. Retention of Personal Data

We retain your personal data for as long as it is necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined above or as required by law. Once data is no longer needed, it will be securely deleted or anonymized.
